I had a pretty good stay at Central Hotel Shanghai. The location was fantastic, right near East Nanjing Road and a short walk to the Bund, which made it super convenient. However, I did face a couple of issues with the Wi-Fi and some maintenance noise that was a bit annoying. Overall, I'd rate it as a solid choice, especially for the location.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and comfortable with nice big bathrooms and great water pressure in the shower. Although I liked the layout, the bathroom window into the main room could be awkward for friends, but was fine for us as a couple.
Service
9.0
The staff were very efficient and helpful. I was especially impressed by Mr. Ekin Han, the Assistant Manager, who addressed some of my requests personally.
Location
10.0
The location is perfect! It's close to two metro stops, just a 5-minute walk to the subway, and near tons of restaurants and shops on East Nanjing Road.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were somewhat disappointing; there wasn't much variety and the food wasn't great. I opted to explore local food instead.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities were decent, offering room service and assistance with tours, but I found the Wi-Fi kind of slow and unreliable. It was a bit frustrating.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Central Hotel Shanghai. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a fantastic view of the Pedestrian Mall. The location was superb, just a short walk from Nanjing Road and close to many attractions. However, the decor is a bit dated and the breakfast options, while plentiful, could use more variety for Western tastes.

Breakfast offered a decent variety, mixing Asian and Western options. While the selection was adequate, I wished there were more choices tailored to Western tastes. Nonetheless, it set me up nicely for a day of sightseeing.
Facilities

The hotel had all the essential facilities I needed, including room service, dry cleaning, and laundry options. I could also get cash from a money exchange machine at the reception. However, I did encounter some areas that had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Central Hotel Shanghai. The location was absolutely excellent, allowing easy access to major attractions like the Bund and Nanjing shopping street. However, the check-in process was painfully slow, and the reception staff could have been more welcoming. Despite these issues, the room was spacious and comfortable, which made my stay enjoyable overall.
